Ukrainian MMA fighter Andrii Barkar will return to the cage on May 9 in Kyiv.
His bout will headline the second MMA event promoted by BFL PRO. The team has already found an opponent and is currently working on finalizing the contract terms.
Barkar holds a professional MMA record of 5–3. He made his debut in 2017 but took a break in 2020 before returning at a joint BFL and Hazard event in Ivano-Frankivsk. On November 1, 2025, Andrii secured a submission victory over amateur MMA world champion Yurii Bohorodchenko.
He then competed at BFL’s debut standalone event on January 31 at STEREO PLAZA. On that occasion, the Ukrainian defeated his compatriot Ihor Kutsenko—who was making his professional MMA debut—via submission (armbar).
Riding a two-fight winning streak, Barkar has now earned the opportunity to headline a BFL event and will have his first international fight in his professional career. More big news regarding Andrii’s future is also expected. In his Telegram channel, BFL PRO executive director Oleksandr Pasichnyk teased “pleasant” updates.
